How to take care of your new tattoo for the best results
Keep the tattoo covered with the SecondSkin film for 2β5 days. When youβre ready to remove it, pry gently from one edge and peel slowly to the side. Pink skin and some residual glue afterward are completely normal.
Wash the tattoo 2β3 times daily with warm water and unscented soap. Gently pat dry with a clean paper towel β never rub. Avoid using regular towels as they can harbor bacteria.
Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer twice daily for 10 days. Recommended products: Lubriderm, Aveeno, Aquaphor, or AfterInked lotion. Use only a thin layer β over-moisturizing can suffocate the skin and slow healing.
Your tattoo will flake naturally during the healing process β this is normal. Do not pick or scratch the flaking skin. Avoid body scrubs for the first 4 weeks. While visible healing happens in 2β3 weeks, complete healing typically takes 4β5 weeks.
Alcohol is not recommended for the first day or two after your session. It weakens your immune response, can hinder the healing process, and may increase swelling around the tattooed area.
